The most important skill a 21st-century person should possess is the ability to think like a computer: breaking down a large problem, identifying repetitive or similar parts, removing unnecessary components, developing a general strategy that can solve many problems, and designing an algorithm with step-by-step instructions.
At ISTEK Bandırma Schools, we are aware of the necessity of equipping 21st-century children, known as the "Z Generation," with 21st-century skills. Based on this principle, we conduct information technology classes under the name "ISTEKtech" at every level of our school to nurture individuals who are not just consumers but also producers; who work collaboratively and interdisciplinary; who think critically, solve problems effectively, and think creatively.
ISTEKtech Workspaces
Our school houses five educational technology workspaces where all ISTEKtech activities are conducted. These are:
- Digital Literacy
- First Robotics Competition (FRC workshop)
- STEM & Maker Center (Coding and Maker workshop)
- ISTEKtech - First Lego League workspace
- Computer lab (12+1 All In One PCs)
This Campus Offers Safe Internet
ISTEK Bandırma Schools provide contemporary educational opportunities to students with its quality and privileges. The ISTEK Bandırma Schools campus offers interactive education opportunities with fiber internet, classrooms equipped with smart boards, and physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories. The campus also features a science and art street, a 212-seat conference hall, a swimming pool, an indoor sports hall, outdoor sports areas, a drama workshop, and playgrounds to provide modern education facilities to students.
The project conducted between ISTEK Bandırma Schools and Zyxel was realized with Zyxel's expertise. In the project, the wired-wireless network infrastructure and Internet Security of ISTEK Bandırma Schools were implemented under the assurance of Zyxel products. The project has increased the coverage area, enabling uninterrupted work for teachers and students. Additionally, legally required network traffic monitoring has started with Zyxel products.
