History of ISTEK Foundation
Founded in 1985 by Bedrettin Dalan, ISTEK Foundation aims to cultivate modern and entrepreneurial generations, remaining committed to Atatürk’s principles and reforms. With a chain of education spanning from preschool to university, the foundation plays a significant role in shaping Turkey’s future with 22 preschools, 22 primary schools, 22 middle schools, 21 Anatolian high schools, 16 science high schools, and Yeditepe University.
The first school of ISTEK Foundation, Semiha Şakir High School, was established in Göztepe-Çiftehavuzlar during the 1985-1986 academic year. Following this pioneering step, our foundation expanded over the years to spread quality education at all levels:
1986-1987 Academic Year:
- ISTEK Private Belde High School
- ISTEK Private Bilge Kağan High School
1987-1988 Academic Year:
- ISTEK Private Kaşgarlı Mahmut High School
- ISTEK Private Kemal Atatürk High School
- ISTEK Private Uluğbey High School
1989-1990 Academic Year:
- ISTEK Acıbadem High School, Primary School, and Preschool
- ISTEK Atanur Oğuz High School
1996-1997 Academic Year:
- ISTEK Bilge Kağan Primary School
This list has continued to grow over the years, expanding our vision of education. In the 2000s, science high schools and preschools became more prominent.
Higher Education Initiative
The establishment of Yeditepe University in 1996 marked a significant step for ISTEK Foundation, extending its educational mission to higher education and offering a seamless pathway to prepare students for professional life.
With new schools opening across Turkey, including in cities like Bandırma, Gaziantep, Afyon, and Mersin during the 2020-2021 academic year, our education network continues to strengthen and expand.
